LED HyperFlash Indicator Fix
Many Road Star owners want to upgrade their lights to LED. This is an easy task with the tail light (since it is already LED), the headlights and passing lamps. But when you attempt to upgrade to LEDs for your indicator lights (blinkers) you end up with a hyperflash. Many people have struggled with this for years but there is a pretty easy solution.
You can purchase a 2-Pin Electronic LED Flasher Relay Fix. I purchased mine on eBay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/274699297934?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649)
Once you install your LED lights as blinkers you will need to remove the side covers to access the blinker relay, which is under the right side cover. You will need to remove the left side cover first so that you can remove the bolt that secures the right side cover towards the front.
Locate the blinker relay and pull the BRN/WHT and BRN wires from the 6 pin flasher connector. Next connect the BRN/WHT to L (load) and the BRN to B (+), then add heat shrink tubing to insulate the blade connectors.
If you don’t have enough room under the right side cover you can pull it through and store it under your seat next to the tool bag.
